Majidi and Kiarostami’s works to be screened in Oman

Two movies by Majid Majidi and Abbas Kiarostami are to be screened in Oman.

Two acclaimed movies by renowned Iranian filmmakers Majid Majidi and Abbas Kiarostami are to be screened in Oman capital city of Muscat.

Majid Majidi’s ‘The Color of God’ and the late director Abbas Kiarostami’s ‘Where is the Friend’s Home’ are to be displayed in Muscat following the cinematic interactions between Iran and Oman.

Made in 1987, ‘Where is the Friend’s Home’ tells a simple story of a conscientious schoolboy’s quest to return his friend’s notebook in a neighboring village.

The movie won several national and international awards including the Bronze Leopard at the 1989 Locarno Film Festival in Switzerland.

Released in 1999, ‘The Color of God’ narrates the story of a young blind boy who comes home from boarding school to spend summer break with his family.

For him it is just returning to everything he cares about, like his grandmother, sister and the natural life of home. However, his father is finding his son's disability too much to bear.

The two movies will be screened on December 27 in Oman.
